Miraculous Medal Prayer

The Miraculous Medal was revealed by the Virgin Mary to St. Catherine Labouré in 1830. Millions wear it, and countless healings and conversions have been attributed to it. This is the prayer that accompanies it.

The story of the medal

In 1830, Mary appeared to St. Catherine Labouré in Paris, showing her a design for a medal with the words 'O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.' The medal spread worldwide and became known as Miraculous.

The Miraculous Medal prayer

«O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee. Mother of God, Queen of Heaven, grant us your protection and intercede for our healing and our needs. Keep us under your mantle and lead us to your Son. Amen.»

How to use the medal

Wear it around your neck or keep it close. Pray the prayer daily, especially in moments of need. Many say it during illness, travel, or difficulty. The medal is not magic — it is a sign of faith and a reminder of Mary's intercession.

Why it's called miraculous

Because of the many graces — healings, conversions, protections — reported by those who wear it with faith. The Church encourages the medal as a sacramental: a holy sign that prepares us to receive grace.
